Each class of this 6 week program will focus on basic and specific aspects of self defense.  Skills covered will be:
  •  escaping/responding to being grabbed by an aggressor, 
  • simple, effective strikes and strategies for defending oneself,
  • basic takedowns and follow-ups, 
  • escaping and/or maintaining the upper hand when on the ground,
  • chokes and submissions, and
  • practicing mixed skills in combination.

Participants should dress in loose clothing. Shoes and dangling jewelry should be removed for safety. We ask participants to come prepared with water and a towel.  

We will be working in pairs for much of the course, so feel free to come with a partner! We expect participants to participate. In turn, we promise to deliver effective techniques in a fun and exciting way!
